Once her studies are completed, Priscilla (Janaina Suaudeau), a young Brazilian woman whose visa has expired, has to find a job if she wants to stay in Montreal. She lands a job as an exotic dancer at Elixir, a downtown nightclub, and finds herself surrounded by 15 other young women who, like her, are staying in Canada illegally. Among the dancers is a Quebecois woman, the pretty Milagro (Clara Furey), who dreams of fleeing the Quebec winters with her daughter Chloé, for a warmer climate. To succeed, she must leave her mother (Anne Dorval), her daughter's guardian, and negotiate with an enigmatic RCMP corporal (Colm Feore) to leave the country. Despite their differences, Priscilla and Milagro will forge a friendship that will carry them beyond the walls of the Elixir, a friendship that could turn into love if their universe was forgiving.
