A glimpse into the living conditions of many immigrant workers in Quebec, who have to take on difficult, poorly paid jobs in order to make a living. With this first 16 mm feature, the only one made outside the NFB, Rached takes a new, socially aware look at immigration in Quebec. Shot mainly in Montreal, the film gives voice to a number of characters who give an inside view of the lived experiences of workers carried in their bodies. It's worth noting the place given to song, which inaugurates a particular characteristic of Rached's cinema when she lets it become testimony and sociological data.
